Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy Welcomes Lauren Sproull as Public Relations Specialist
12/03/2015

Tallahassee, FL – The Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy announces the addition of Lauren Sproull to serve as Public Relations Specialist. In this role, Sproull will communicate with a wide audience about the work of the Foundation as the national leader in family literacy.

“We’re all about words in promoting the value of literacy, so we welcome Lauren with her gift of storytelling,” said President and CEO Liza McFadden. “We work with many families who can’t articulate what a lack of literacy means in their lives, so having a talented writer join our team is tremendously valuable.”

Prior to joining the Barbara Bush Foundation, Sproull served in communications roles for two education and literacy-focused organizations: the Florida Department of State’s Division of Library and Information Services and the Florida Virtual Campus, which provides educational services for the state’s K-20 community.

Sproull earned her B.A. in English at Florida State University, where she also studied editing and publishing at the graduate level. She resides in Tallahassee and lives the values of family literacy by reading to her young children nightly.

The Barbara Bush Foundation is the nation’s leading advocate for family literacy. The goals of the Foundation are simple: we want children to start school ready to excel and help parents improve their literacy skills.
